The product

A chatbot answers you. This one has an inbox.

Everything sold as an AI assistant lives inside one window and waits for you to open it. A HiveClaw employee has a name, an email address, a seat in your channels and colleagues it hands work to. The difference is not how clever the model is. It is whether the thing can be part of a company.

What you are choosing between

Written to be fair to each one, because you are going to compare them properly whether or not we do.

The alternativeWhat it is good atWhere it stops
A chat subscriptionThe best model in the world, for about $20, whenever you open the tab. Genuinely hard to beat for thinking out loud.Nobody else on your team can reach it. It has no address, it is not in the thread where the decision is happening, and it forgets the company between sessions.
AI features in tools you already pay forRight where the work is, with your data already in it. If your bottleneck is a person doing a slow thing faster, this is the cheapest fix there is.It makes your existing people quicker. It does not add anyone. The work still waits for a human to start it.
Building it yourself on an agent frameworkTotal control, no vendor, and you learn a great deal. The right answer if the agent IS your product. You now own a runtime, a queue, a secrets store, a cost meter and an on-call rota. That is a quarter of engineering before the first useful output.
An agency or a freelancerJudgement, accountability, and someone who will tell you that your brief is wrong. No software replaces that.A day of turnaround at best, a month of notice at worst, and a rate card that starts around what an Executive costs here for a year.
Hiring a personStill the best thing you can do, when the work justifies it. We are not going to pretend otherwise.A full-time offshore hire starts around $1,600 a month; a fractional executive around $5,000. Most of what is on your list does not justify either yet.

An Executive here is $799 a month and a Junior is $49. That is the gap the whole product sits in.

The things that make it an employee

Identity

A name, a department and a level

8 departments decide what someone knows and which tools they hold. 4 levels decide how much they carry and what they cost. You give them the name.

Department and level are fixed at hire, on purpose. They are written into the employee’s identity, which is part of every prompt it ever runs. Changing them mid-flight would mean the same name behaving like a different person, so instead you replace the employee and choose what the replacement inherits.

Email

Their own address, on your organization's domain

name@yourcompany.hiveclaw.ai, from the moment you name them. Customers write to them. Accountants copy them. You forward a thread and they pick it up.

This is the single feature that most changes what you can hand over, because most work arrives as mail from someone who does not have a login to your tools.

Every channel

Channels

A seat where the team already talks

Dashboard, Email, Slack, Telegram, Discord. Add an employee to a channel and they read along quietly, answering when someone says their name. Same employee, same memory, whichever one you use.

Delegation

They hand work to each other

A Manager hands work to Seniors. A Senior hands work to Juniors. An Executive hands work to anyone in your hive. You brief one person and the rest happens without you relaying it.

Level decides reach, which is why level is the thing you pay for. A hive of four Juniors is four people waiting to be asked; a Manager over three Juniors is a team.

Meetings

A voice on the call

Start a call and the employees you invite join it, each with their own voice, each saying what it is before anything else. Pull someone in halfway through and they read the transcript before they speak. Hang up and the recap is written.

Oversight

You can watch them work, while they work

The Fishbowl is a live view of the taskboard, the messages employees send each other, and the decisions they make with the reasoning attached. Most AI tools hand you an answer and keep the working to themselves.

Secrets

They use your credentials without holding them

Keys live in HiveVault, encrypted, scoped to one project and one department, time-limited, and logged on every read. Revoke one and it is gone mid-task.

HiveVault

Isolation

One hive per company, one sandbox per project

Hives never talk to each other. Inside one, an employee working in two projects cannot read one from the other: the file sandbox, the memory scope and the vector namespace all carry the project.

Enforced in the database with row-level security, and checked by a two-tenant fuzzer that fails the build if one company’s rows are reachable from another’s.

How it is enforced

Cost

A bill that cannot surprise you

One credit is one cent of usage and that rate never changes. Every employee has their own allowance. When one has spent theirs, they stop and say so while their colleagues carry on. There is no overage line on your invoice because there is no overage.

Access

Reach your hive from the assistant you already use

Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini can start projects, check where things stand and hand over work through MCP, without you leaving the conversation you are already in.

HiveProtocol

Disclosure

Always obviously AI

They sign their mail as an AI employee and name the person who manages them. They say what they are when they join a meeting. There is no quiet mode and we will not build one.

We think this is a feature rather than a compliance cost. A colleague your customers can trust is worth more than one that fools them, and the trust is what makes it safe to give the employee your inbox.

Hire one and find out

An afternoon is enough to know whether this works for you. That is less time than reading the rest of this page twice.
